POLICE are appealing for information after £20,000 was stolen from a security van parked outside a Thornbury supermarket.
The theft happened outside the town’s Tesco store on Midland Way last Friday, May 13 at around 2.40pm.
According to police the security van arrived at the store and was in the process of transferring money when a man walked past and stole a cash box.
The suspect then ran off, and dropped the box but made off with the money that was inside. It is believed up to £20,000 may have been stolen.
Police have said they are treating the incident as robbery and would like to speak to the man, who was described as wearing white hooded top and blue jogging bottoms. Anyone who may have seen him in the area at the time is also asked to call police.
