LADIES' group the Royals plan to support the Wotton in Bloom project by holding a charity garden party.
The fundraising group, from the Royal Oak pub in Wotton-under-Edge, are making Wotton in Bloom their charity for 2011, as the project was told it would receive no funding from Stroud District Council this year.
The Royal Oak Ladies Society, known as the Royals, is a social group that is based at the Royal Oak.
Alison Tarbuck, owner of the pub and Royals member, said: "We have been in existence for two years now. For our first year we raised around £1,500 with a garden party for the Wotton swimming pool and we want to beat that figure this year for Wotton in Bloom."
The garden party at the Royal Oak will be held on Sunday, May 29, from 2pm onwards, and will be opened by Wotton’s town crier. There will be a raft of stalls run by local groups and societies with a theme of flowers and gardens.
There will also be a bouncy castle, tombola, cream teas, barbecue and garden themed fancy dress for the children.
For entertainment the New Generation dancers, Gloucester Sea Cadet band and Blue Coat School choir.
Groups wishing to have a stall pay £20 and get to keep all their profits. To book a stall contact Emily Nash at the Royal Oak on 01453 842316. Tickets for the raffle are on sale at the pub, Clarences, the cinema and Bear Street Garage.
