SUNSHINE drew the crowds to Easter Compton at the weekend for the village’s annual carnival and fun day.
The Easter Carnival, held on Saturday, began with the traditional parade through the village led by this year’s carnival queen nine-year-old Freya Bigwood, and her princesses Holly Sumner, eight, and Izabell Davies, seven.
The fun day continued with an array of entertainment on the village playing fields including Jenny Deakin and her performing dogs, the Bloco Ilu Axe Brazilian street band, King Edmund Acrogymnastics Club, plus inflatable rides, a barbecue, a raffle and craft stalls.
The purpose of the carnival and fun day is to raise money to support the groups and organisations that use the Easter Compton Village Hall.
