COMPANIES in the region have been thanked for their donations of more than just money.
Awards were given to South Gloucestershire Council, Frenchay Hospital, Renishaw and Rolls-Royce in recognition of staff’s regular blood donations.
The awards were presented on behalf of the NHS Blood Service by 13-year-old Sophie-Louise Andrew, from Weston-super-Mare, who was diagnosed with a malignant Germ Cell Tumour in 2007 at Frenchay Hospital.
Jonathon Sewel, lead donor relations manager at NHS Blood and Transplant, said: "These rewards reflect the positive impact that local businesses can have in their community.
"NHSBT are incredibly grateful to eight companies and their donors for their efforts in championing blood donation across the South West."
