A PACKED programme of arena events, a field full of stalls and plenty of fun for all the family helped make a school fair in Chipping Sodbury one of the best ever.
The St John’s Mead Primary School summer fair on Saturday raised more than £4,600 in revenue and was supported by hundreds of parents and members of the community.
Yate Star Twirlers, Stapleton School of Dance and King Edmund Acro Gymnastics Club led the line-up of entertainment and pupils from the school took part in a talent contest and showed off their pet pooches in a dog display.
There was also inflatable fun, welly wanging, a giant scaletrix track and donkey rides as well as traditional games and competitions.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary sent an armoured land rover, two firearms officers and a dog handler to raise the profile of their work and St John’s Church in Chipping Sodbury ran several stalls.
Michaela Sillick, chairman of the PTA which organised the fair, said: "Everyone I spoke to had a great day.
"It was a tremendous example of the whole school coming together to raise money, which will ultimately benefit the pupils over the coming years.
"I hope the St John’s Mead school summer fair will become an annual diary date for the Chipping Sodbury community."
