FIRE crews have rescued a pet cat from a house blaze in Wotton-under-Edge.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue were called to a house fire at a property on Market Street, Wotton at 5.26pm yesterday, Thursday, May 17.
Initial reports indicated that there may be persons still inside the property, therefore appliances from Wotton-Under-Edge, as well as Dursley and Nailsworth were sent to the incident. A total of nine fire-fighters attended the incident.
Shortly after arriving at the scene the fire service confirmed that all persons were out of the building, however, fire fighters did rescue a cat from the house.
The animal was not injured and was not affected by the ordeal. An adult female did suffer from smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by Great Western Ambulance Service.
Fire fighters used one hose-reel, two breathing apparatus and thermal image camera in the property. A Ventilation fan was also used to clear smoke from the house.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue confirmed the fire was not suspicious but was believed to have started in the microwave.
