MORE than 20,000 spectators lined the streets to watch the Olympic Torch wound its way through Stroud and Painswick.
Yesterday, May 23, masses of people turned out to cheer the Olympic Torch, and those who had been specially chosen to carry it, as it made its way through the county.
According to Stroud District Council approximately 20,000 people were in Stroud and up to 6,000 people turned out in Painswick.
In Painswick Cam mum-of-three, Ann Poulson, 47, helped to carry the torch and was cheered on by members of 3rd Cam Guide Unit where she is leader.
Mrs Poulson was chosen to carry the torch after being nominated by her daughter Stephanie because of her volunteer work with Guides, and Cam Everside Youth FC under 11s.
