POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist caused hundreds of pounds of damage to a parked car in Chipping Sodbury.
It happened at 1.40am on Sunday, May 20 when the bike rider was cycling down Rounceval Street and collided with a gold-coloured Nissan Qashqai parked on the street.
A police spokesman said: "The collision caused serious damage to the car and has forced the owner to pay his full £250 insurance excess to get the repairs done.
"The cyclist was wearing a reflective jacket and following the collision he came off his bike. Two passers-by helped the cyclist before he rode off towards Yate.
"The damage has been reported to police and an investigation is underway."
Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or knows who the cyclist was. In particular, the two people who helped the cyclist are asked to contact police.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact Avon and Somerset police on 101.
