Being a regularreader of your pages I am of the opinion that in the letters page there does not seem to be much input from Chipping Sodbury residents as opposed those of Thornbury and concluded that some balance be required.
Well lets start with the praise due to the residents, charity organisationsand others who have once again decorated our streets for the festive season. What a show, it certainly brings on the festive cheer and made a superb backdrop for the very succesful Victorian Evening.
Many people give much of their spare time to achieve these results, often without reward other than a chill or soaking being up ladders etc at all hours.
Would it be that these good people be enlisted with their enthusiasm and expertise to install some pedestrian crossings in our street to make it a safer environment in which to move about, perhaps also a 20mph speed limit.
On a recent visit to Thornbury with my wife, we were very surprised when on attempting to cross the street where therewere some strange black and white stripes painted on the road, the traffic actually stopped to allow us to cross.
What Bliss, Oh that we could have some black and white stripes on ourHigh Street,is this a new invention?
Councillors please note, can we have it on our wish list for next year.
