AFTER weeks of training, Frampton Cotterell played their first ever girls match as the U13s travelled to Nailsea and Backwell on a rainy and windy day.
The game started with Frampton on the attack but due to the experience of Nailsea and Backwell, they were outrucked several times to swing the attack in their favour.
Nailsea and Backwell raced into a 2-0 lead early in the first period before the Frampton Girls reacted to the superior rucking.
With an even contest at the rucks, Frampton attacked Nailsea and Backwell and Kali Buffery scored their first ever girls team try.
Nailsea and Backwell added a couple more tries in the first period, but, in the second ten minute period, the Frampton girls created gaps all over the pitch, scoring a couple of tries by Katie Ball and Lauren Channing, entering the final period the girls were brimming with confidence and more tries saw the game end in a 10-6 Nailsea win.
