TORRENTIAL rain took its toll on the sports fixture lists in South Gloucestershire at the weekend.
North Bristol and Frampton Cotterell were supposed to meet at Almondsbury for their Premier Division clash in rugby union's Gloucestershire League but the pitch and much of the surroundings were waterlogged.
It was a similar story at Chipping Sodbury where their match with Old Bristolians was also called off.
With clubs struggling to stage rugby fixtures, it was hardly surprising that much of the football programme was wiped out.
Indeed, the Southern League matches at both Mangotsfield United and Yate Town were postponed on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Hellenic League games involving Premier League Almondsbury Town and Division One West Winterbourne United were also called off.
Neither Hallen or Almondsbury FC managed to play their fixtures in the Toolstation Western League.
