THIS week the members of Bristol Pegasus Motor Club found out that they had qualified for the National Final of the Autoglym Motor Club Quiz.
The quiz was open to the 600-plus Motor Clubs in the UK, with only four getting through to the National Final.
To qualify, the club had to answer 100 motoring and motorsport questions on-line against the clock. The club used one of their monthly club nights at the Wheatsheaf Inn, Winterbourne, for six members to gather around a computer and answer the questions of the qualifying round.
The final is to be held on January 26, at the headquarters of Jenson Button's Grand Prix team - Honda Racing in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
Bristol Pegasus will join Oxford, Stockton and District and Wallasey Motor Clubs in battling for the £2,000 first prize. Cash prizes will also be offered to the runner-up and the losing semi-finalists.
The Bristol Pegasus will be headed by Tim Murray from Stoke Gifford. Tim himself was the Ford Motormind Quiz Champion back in 1983.
