Midlands Junior Premier League Results - 15th December A BAD weekend for all Yate teams as they tasted defeat. The U16s went down 3-0 at Bedworth United with the U15s suffering a 1-0 defeat away at Gloucester City and the U14s going down at home to Histon 2-1.
Yate Town U14s 1 Histon U14s 2 IN a closely-fought game, two goals scored either side of half time were enough to claim the points for Histon.
Yate threw everything at Histon in the last 25 minutes and were rewarded with a goal from Ryan Leather who crashed a shot into the top corner of the net to give Yate hope with about 15 minutes to go. Try as they might, Yate could not get the equaliser.
Histon held on bravely whilst Yate provided many heart-stopping moments without the end reward.
Gloucester City U15s 1 Yate Town U15s 0 THE first half was a hard-fought affair with Gloucester just edging the best chances.
The second half was a very even contest. Bradley Stroud-Drinkwater settled the match with an accurately placed shot to beat the Yate keeper.
