British Gas Business League Premier Division King's Lynn 1 Mangotsfield United 1 JUST 18 days after beating promotion favourites King's Lynn at Cossham Street Mangotsfield United picked up a deserved point with a battling performance in Norfolk.
Frank Gregan was able to recall Ronnie Mowatt, Paul Milsom and Luke Ballinger but was without the services of Alex Ball, James Crew and Dave Burborough.
Despite having to defend for long periods Mangotsfield took the lead on 60 minutes through Dave Morrissey.
However, the lead was to last just five minutes as Danny Bloomfield levelled for the hosts.
Mangotsfield almost snatched a late winner when Luke Ballinger struck the bar with seven minutes left to play.
The hosts enjoyed the better of the first half in terms of possession but rarely looked like opening the scoring.
With half time approaching the best chance of the half fell to Kings Lynn's Michael Frew who contrived to shoot wide from close range.
Mangotsfield started the second half on the front foot as Dave Morrissey took advantage of indecision in the home midfield only to shoot wide of goal.
Somewhat against the run of play Mangotsfield opened the scoring on the hour mark after a counter attack saw Alan Griffin pick out Dave Morrissey who showed good composure to side foot past Scott Howie.
Disappointingly, the lead was to last just five minutes as the hosts levelled on 65 minutes after Jack Defty picked out leading scorer Danny Bloomfield who finished from a tight angle.
During the remaining 25 minutes both teams could have won the match.
King's Lynn's Jack Defty went close when he directed Dean West's cross wide of goal whilst, with seven minutes remaining Luke Ballinger almost won it for Mangotsfield when he spotted the home keeper off his line but his dipping strike from 22 yards rattled the bar.
On Tuesday, January 1 Mangotsfield are home to Clevedon Town.
