SUPER Stuart Fleetwood took his personal tally to 30 as the nation's leading scorer bagged a brace to sink bottom club Droylsden 3-2 at the New Lawn.

Rovers made hard work of their victory as Droylsden pegged-back Jim Harvey's side, who held a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

Harvey was pleased to move closer to the play-offs but felt a lack of concentration almost cost his side.

advertisement He said: "I was delighted with the first half, but in the second half they've gone out perhaps thinking the game is won.

"They're lacking in concentration to see it through. It's a trait that has started to show its head in the squad. We've got to stamp it out."

Meanwhile, with the January transfer window opening, Harvey remains optimistic about the future of Fleetwood.

He added: "We'll wait and see what happens. If he's playing like he is and scoring goals, if clubs in the Football League aren't interested, it's their fault.

"He's certainly done very well for us and I hope we can keep him until the end of the season."

Earlier, Rovers were forced into a number of changes with the ill Chris Giles, Lee Dodgson (thigh) and Mark Beesley started from the bench with a slight niggle.

Rovers started brightly and almost took a second minute lead when Darren Jones raced forward to lash a fierce shot just wide.

Rovers opened their account on seven minutes. Paul Stonehouse crossed from the left for Fleetwood to race in.

Rovers doubled their lead after a sustained period of attacking football. Jones again raced forward to send over an inviting cross, unfortunately defender Liam Murray could only slide his clearance into his own net.

All seemed well as Rovers took to the field in the second half with a 2-0 lead, but as in previous games their concentration fell apart and Droylsden were soon allowed back into the match. Jody Banim sent over an inviting cross and the ball drifted over Ryan Robinson's reach Denham had the easy job of nodding in from close range.

Stonehouse was next to test the visitors, sending in a fierce volley that Phillips could only palm away from danger.

Just on the hour the visitors were level, again the defence failed to clear the danger and Terry Fearns found himself in just the right place to head home Jamie Tandy's cross. With their tales up the visitors bought a great save out of Robinson as he parried Banim's shot around the post for a corner.

With just 12 minutes remaining Fleetwood produced another wonderful goal, this time Rigoglioso split open the visiting back line and the striker raced through to score.
