Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One Cheltenham Civil Service 1 Kingswood 2 KINGSWOOD have had to endure some terrible injuries over the last couple of months, and this has had a significant impact on their ability to secure games when they are dominating them and once again this was evident on Saturday against a spirited Cheltenham Civil Service side.

Barrie Dibden opened the scoring as early as the 10th minute after receiving an early pass from Ryan Mudd, and this appeared to relax the visitors as they began to spray the ball around, probing at the home defence.

However they found Rich Goody in the home goal in superb form as he made saves from Harbour, Dibden and Mudd keeping the score respectable for his team mates at the break.

The second period saw much of the same, with good chances either spurned or well saved by Goody, until the 70th minute when Adam Harbour found some space to work in and fed Barrie Dibden to fire home from 15 yards to double the visitors' lead.

But within minutes Service were back in the game as a speculative punt from Danny Warren deflected over everyone and settled in the far corner of the net, much to the frustration of Adam Eldridge who had kept goal well for Kingswood.

With players slowly returning to fitness, manager Ian Evans is optimistic for the second half of the season hoping his side will begin to climb the table.
