Football DURSLEY LADIES 4 GLOUCESTER CITY 0 Dursley grabbed their first win of the season in the battle between the two bottom clubs in the division.

Town started the game exactly as they intended to and from a good passing move down the right wing, Charlotte Palmer finished with a clinical shot.

The home team increased their lead with a 25 yard thunderbolt from centre forward Stacey Miles that dipped into the top corner.

Confidence visibly grew and Dursley produced some delightful passing football especially in the final third of the pitch.

It was no surprise when Lianne Rickaby finished off another intelligent move by slotting in from an acute angle.

Rickaby could have added another shortly before half-time but contrived to hit the post with her firm shot.

Apart from one or two minor scares that Dursley keeper Jodie Turl expertly extinguished, it was more of the same in the second half.

A speculative long range shot from Gemma Butler crept under the visiting goalkeeper's body for the fourth.

Town should really have scored more but were delighted to greet the final whistle with a first seasons' win under their belts.

An ecstatic Dursley manager, Neale Humble said:"I have never doubted the actual football ability that exists in the squad.

"Today was the day at last, where it all came together with every one of them displaying a commitment and skill level that can only suggest good times are ahead in the long battle against relegation."
