JIM Harvey is hoping the boost of keeping Stuart Fleetwood will help his side to victory over promotion rivals Exeter City on Saturday.
The striker pledged himself to Forest Green for the rest of the season yesterday, a decision which delighted boss Harvey who will be hoping Fleetwood can continue to score freely, starting against the Devon outfit.
"The lad (Fleetwood) is staying and he wants to give everything to fire us into the play-offs", Harvey said.
"It will give everyone at the club a massive lift going into the game on Saturday I think."
Rovers have put in some of their best performances against other sides around them in top half of the table and their win at league leaders Aldershot on Saturday means they will go into the game full of confidence, and Harvey says the team seems to enjoy the big occasions.
"It was a great result at the weekend and the fact that we're still competing to get into the play-offs at the moment is a great credit to all of the players."
"It has given everyone a boost and Exeter's a big club, they used to be in the league, so it's a game for us all to look forward to.
"All of the players are focused for the likes of Exeter and Aldershot and we've shown that we're capable of beating anyone on our day.
The win at Aldershot on Saturday was also accompanied by a rare clean sheet.
Rovers are still looking for their first shutout at the New Lawn this season, but Harvey said he won't be changing his attacking mentality.
"We'll play our normal game on Saturday and that means to win. If that means we score five and concede four then so be it but one or two clean sheets would definitely be nice."
Forest Green have no fresh injury worries for Saturday's game against Exeter but Danny Carey-Bertram has failed to recover from a groin injury.
Midfielder Lee Dodgson (knee) and defender Chris Giles (calf) are also still on the sidelines.
