YATE Women bounced back from their heavy defeat the week before with a commanding performance at University of Bristol 2s.
Yate went out determined and won a short corner in the first minute. Shannon Saunders' pass picked out Helen Serevettaz, who scored another great short corner goal.
Yate were 2-0 up two minutes later when Saunders tackled the ball off the defender and scored past the UoB keeper.
Yate continued to pass patiently and build up the play, and were 3-0 up after 10 minutes when joint player of the match Kyisha Cooke's deflection was saved by the keeper but Cooke kept her composure to regather, run and put it past the keeper
The tempo dropped a little towards the end of the first half, but Yate came out firing in the second. Another early goal ensued when Emily found Anne Chinnick, who passed to joint player of the match Antonia Joy, who turned and scored.
The home side struggled to create chances, with the Yate defence of Rosie Snowdon, Holly Davis and Di Pugh-Hudson dealing competently with what was thrown at them.
A great team goal was scored when Zoe Vale made a typical attack up the left and found Joy in midfield. Joy passed forward to Chinnick, who drove along the back line and who’s cross found Emily at the back post for her debut first team goal.
Yate Women's 2s were also celebrating a win after a 4-0 victory against Wick and it was a club clean sweep as the 3s also won, away at Hantham.
Clare Kane, Alexandra Bessex, Nicola Bruce and Heidi Bruce got the goals in the 4-0 victory.
