IT was an encouraging weekend of results as far as Thornbury Hockey sides were concerned last weekend. 

The table topping Ladies 1s thrashed Knowle 2s by a comprehensive 10-0 scoreline.

Coz Deas returned to top form in scoring five excellent goals. She was ably supported by Vicky Ball who grabbed a brace on her return from injury and others from Esther Jenkinson, Alice Atkinson and captain Jo Deas. 

As for Thornbury 2s, they came from 2-0 down at home to Bristol Bluebirds to gain a creditable draw.

Steph Staton in the home goal pulled off a couple of fine saves whilst Izzie and Connie Talbot were effective distributors in midfield. Mikki Staton scored both for Thornbury following some pleasing interpassing between Molly Smith and Amy Long.

Thornbury's mens side welcomed back captain Pardeep Bhogal in their convincing 7-0 victory over Old Bristolians 4ths.

The skipper celebrated by opening the scoring with the other home goals coming from the enthusiastic Connor Matthews who grabbed a hat trick, Christoph Zickert, Tom Barnes and David Anderson.
