IT was another successful series of results for Thornbury Hockey Club last weekend.
Thornbury ladies 2s returned to winning ways with deserved 2-0 victory against Keynsham 3s.
Steph Staton made a number of fine saves in goal for the home side with Izzy Wyres and Lou-Lou Taylor ably assisting Lauren Lever in defence.
The various midfield combinations of Zoe Henderson, Alice Atkinson, Izzy Talbot, Connie Talbot and Sophie Vizard all distributed effectively when on the pitch to the forwards Sarah Lally, Ella Clark and Mikki Staton, who all posed a constant threat.
The Thornbury goals were scored by Lauren Lever with a powerful strike following a short corner and Sarah Lally who was on the receiving end of a well weighted Ella Clark pass to guide the ball home.
Thornbury men were also victorious in a 2-1 home win against South Gloucester 2s.
Jim Binnersley was his usual vociferous self in goal encouraging his on pitch team mates whilst the defence of Martin Abrahams, Martyn Hopkins, Rob Sherred, Lee Hunt and Nathan Ashfield capably dealt with the visiting attacks.
The midfield of Charlie Ball, Connor Matthrews, Russell Maidment and David Anderson were effective distributors to the strong running Pardip Bhogal, Sam Amos ,Lewis Henderson and Tiger Sherred-Isles up front.
The goals were scored by Connor Matthews and Captain Pardip Bhogal.
