THORNBURY Ladies romped to a comprehensive victory at the weekend as they flexed their muscles against South Gloucestershire 2s.
The Ladies returned to action following a week’s break and once they settled, they could not be stopped.
Once Coz Deas opened the scoring with the first of her five goals, it was virtually one-way traffic from there.
Mandy Mcgarry was strong in defence for the home side and distributed well from the back whilst Jess Mundy, Jo Deas and Connie Talbot combined effectively in midfield.
Thornbury's other goals were scored by Esther Jenkinson (3), Vicky Ball (3),Sophie Vizzard (2) and one each from Jo Deas and Jess Mundy.
Thornbury 2s welcomed Bristol and West Jaspers 3s to Castle School and completed a home double by gaining a 4-1 victory.
Captain Sarah Lally led from the front scoring a brace with Mik Staton also getting two.
A goal from Sam Amos was not enough to prevent Thornbury Men from losing 2-1 at Old Bristolians 3s.
