A LOCAL tennis club has picked up a prestigious award at the Avon LTA 2023 Tennis Awards.

Sodbury Tennis was named Club of the Year for 2023 at the annual award ceremony.

A statement from the club read: "We are delighted to be named as Club of the Year by Avon Tennis. The award is given in recognition for our inclusive approach to coaching for all ages and abilities, our member and community engagement and the wide range of opportunities to play that Sodbury Tennis Club Offer. 

"It’s encouraging to receive recognition for those who put so much effort into providing opportunities for others to play and enjoy tennis. We strive to make Sodbury a really welcoming club for all."

Sodbury Tennis club are also running a junior open day on March 26 from 9am - 12pm.

There will be lots of fun tennis games and activities for all children aged 4+ and an opportunity for parents to get involved with some cardio tennis.
