IT was another action-packed weekend for Thornbury Hockey teams.
Thornbury ladies continued their pleasing start to the season when beating old rivals Stroud by 5-3.
Coz Deas regained her goal-scoring form with a brace whilst Sophie Vizard and Esther Jenkinson were also on target. The scoring was completed when Ella Clark crowned a pleasing display when her shot gave the keeper no chance.
On Saturday, Thornbury visit Redland 2s who now play at the new hockey facility at Lockleaze Sports Complex.
A young Thornbury Ladies 2s team went down 8/1 against Bristol with Beth Eds scoring the solitary goal.
Meanwhile, Thornbury men’s team continued their impressive form. Their latest victory came against old Bristolians 5s.
Thornbury were well served by Harvey Balding, Isaac Reid and Rockhampton cricketer Harry Collins, who had his best game since joining the team this season.
Tiger Sherred–Isles and Lewis Henderson were a constant threat to the visiting defence with their speedy runs down the flanks.
The consistent David Anderson scored both goals in a 2-0 win. Bristol and West 6s are the team's next opponents on Saturday at Castle School (10am).
