CAM skipper Peter Hall is wary of rustiness as his side prepare to face title challengers Gloucester AIW after three weeks without cricket.

Poor weather has affected local cricket over the past two weekends, and Hall is just hoping for a game this Saturday.

His Cam side are still setting the pace at the top of the 3-D Sports Gloucestershire County League division three, but they face a tough trip to the team placed third, and Hall is concerned the unwanted mid-season break could affect his side.

He said: "We picked up a bat three weeks ago and haven't since and people get out of form so it does make a difference, but they (Gloucester AIW) are in the same boat."

"Every game is big but it would be nice if we could play some cricket."

Cam beat Gloucester AIW at home earlier in the season but will be without Scott Kalus on this occasion. The opening batsman was due to see a specialist yesterday and is expected to miss around six weeks after injuring his ankle playing football.

Whether Cam can maintain their excellent form so far this season remains to be seen, but Hall said he was very pleased with the progress the club is making in all areas at the moment.

"It depends on what side we can get out, because if it's our best side I'm confident we can do well," Hall said about their promotion hopes this season.

He added: "It's nice to see Cam cricket club doing well with the seconds and thirds at the top as well, and the youth section is brilliant so long may it continue.
