GLOUCESTERSHIRE fast bowler Carl Greenidge has agreed to leave the club earlier than anticipated.
The son of former West Indian opening batsman Gordon Greenidge was one of four players told by new director of cricket that his contract would not be renewed at the end of the season.
He was originally due to see out the rest of the season at the county ground, but the decision was made for him to leave early, as first team opportunities look limited for him this season.
Chief Executive, Tom Richardson said: "Having talked this through with Carl it was unlikely that he would play much in the next couple of months so it became clear that this was the best course of action for both him and the Club.
"We would like to thank him for his contributions to the team over the past four years. "Carl is a popular player with both the squad and the off the field team and he will be missed. We wish him every success."
Greenidge added: "I have enjoyed my time with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and I wish the Club and the team all the best for the future."
