3-D Sports Gloucestershire County Cricket League Division One; Birdlip & Brimpsfield (137a.o) lost to Oldlands (194-4) by 57 runs
OLDLANDS showed great resolve to pull off an excellent victory despite missing Skipper Steve Heaven and Steve Pennington.
The O’s racked up 194-4 off their 45 overs as Jason Savage and Brad Thomas started the innings off well, adding 60 for the fist wicket.
Thomas departed for 25, allowing Nick Grove to join Savage, and they took the score onto 140 before Grove went for a good 32.
Nathan Freeman came in and belted four sixes in his 29 before being run out, along with Dave Walton, who hit 19 not out off seven balls. Tim Thomas ended 8 not out.
Birdlip got off to a flyer in their chase, helped by extras and some some good batting by Guy Partridge (60*), who carried his bat.
Walton picked up 3-47 off his 12 overs and bowled with good pace.
Brad Thomas finished with 5-29, and Dave Brookes picked up opener Trevor Holder, who was looking well set with Partridge before their collapse.
