TYTHERINGTON ROCKS won a point in this hard fought tussle against improved Lydney Town.

The home side put out a much changed team and went into the lead inside 19 minutes through a Mark Greenland penalty.

Lydney full back Matt Remnant fouled Marcus Taylor in the box and Greenland converted.

But the lead disappeared six minutes later as a blistering 25-yard shot from Russ Scott arched into the top corner of Rob Dent’s net with the goalkeeper well beaten.

“That was a hard point,” stated Tytherington manager, Barry Grainger, after a dramatic 90 minutes.

“ Lydney had a lot of possession in the second half but they only had one chance to score.”

That came after 63 minutes when Mike Robins went through the Tytherington defence but Dent was out to divert his on-target shot.

Grainger added: “We did have an opportunity from Marcus Taylor but their goalkeeper stopped his chance to score.

“Our recent form with only one defeat in the last 12 games is great for our club and supporters at the end of a difficult season for us all.”
