WE FACED Northampton on Friday which was a good game for us.
We knew it was going to be hard but we kept the ball well and managed to nick a goal halfway through the second half. We were both going for the three points but the goal settled us down.
We travelled up to Milton Keynes on Monday I didn’t make the bench because they went for another youngster Charlie Reece. Paul Trollope spoke to us all before the game and said he’d give us all a chance before the end of the season. I’ve got to wait patiently, hopefully start a couple of games and do well and carry that on for the beginning of next season.
The MK Dons came at us quite quickly in the first half. We were passing it a bit too slow and Byron Anthony was tackled by Ali Gerba, who took it on to score. At this level, if you lose the ball at the back you know the opposition are going to score.
They went onto get a second in the second half through the middle where we got caught a bit wide open and it was a good finish from Luke Chadwick. In the last 20 minutes we put on a lot of pressure and a few good crosses from David Pipe were a threat but going 2-0 down to a team like MK Dons is always going to be hard. We nicked a goal back from a good header by Steve Elliott which gave us a bit of hope but unfortunately we couldn’t get the second goal. We need to improve a lot if we are going to beat those sort of sides.
We’ve got two hard home games coming up. Millwall are doing well up the top but we want to get as many points as we can so we’ll go into it looking for a win. Then it’s Brighton who are struggling so they will be going for it and looking for an early goal.
