JAMES FRANKLIN took two early wickets in Surrey’s innings to put Gloucestershire in command on a rain-affected day two at The Oval.
After rain wiped out most of the day, Gloucestershire could only add 12 more runs to their overnight total, finishing on 333 all out with Jon Lewis unbeaten on 39. Andre Nel and Jade Dernbach took four wickets apiece for Surrey.
However, Gloucestershire made a great start with the ball and Franklin (2-11) bowled both Michael Brown and Laurie Evans. Lewis (1-5) also trapped Matthew Spriegel lbw to leave Surrey in trouble at 18-3 at the close of play.
