SLIMBRIDGE took another step towards the County League title as they hit local rivals Berkeley Town for six on Tuesday night.
Lewis Wilton grabbed a brace, while the other goals were shared around between Craig Cole, Marvyn Roberts, Jamie Inch and Marc Roffe.
The Swans raced into a three-goal lead but Pete Holder pulled a goal back with a 25-yard strike just before half time for Berkeley.
Slimbridge are now six points ahead of Kings Stanley at the top of the table with just four left to play for both sides.
“We took our chances and they never really threatened it,” said Slimbridge boss James Cole. “We needed that before a big game against Henbury.”
“I am happy. We need seven points (to win the league) from the last four games but I will look to win every one of them.”
Slimbridge meet fourth-placed Henbury at Wisloe Road on Saturday (3pm).
