I’M GOING to see the surgeon today and he’s going to sign me off to be fit again.
I’m now moving away from rehab and back into training. I’ll be in full training once or twice a week but unfortunately for me the season ends so I’ve got all summer to get stronger and fitter for pre-season.
I went with my family to Swansea on Saturday and it was a close game against a side fighting for the play-offs. It was a game that could have gone either way and it seals our fate because we can no longer get into the play-offs. They had chances and we had chances but one went in from a corner for Swansea. We’re at the end of the season now so a lot of players are getting tired but we’ve done really well and got close.
I know a couple of the younger lads at Swansea from Wales under-19s and under-21s. They are a side looking to go places and I’m rooting for them because of my family. It would be fantastic if it was a Cardiff - Swansea final. They are two Welsh clubs pushing to get into the Premiership and if one of them can get in, which I hope they do, it would be fantastic.
There is a bit of disappointment that we’ve missed out on the play-offs but the players have worked hard all year. There’s less on Saturday’s game but it will still be competitive on both sides. Sheffield Wednesday will want to win and we want to finish as high as we can - eighth or ninth it would be fantastic. It’s the last game in front of the home fans so we’ll be really up for it.
