INJURY-HIT Forest Green ended the season in defeat as Grays scored twice in 50 second-half seconds to come from behind.
Rovers took the lead in the 25th minute when Stuart Thurgood handled a cross and the league's top scorer Andrew Mangan slotted the penalty home for his 30th goal of the season.
Earlier, Rovers were forced to include Shortwood United duo James Baldwin and Ben Pugh for their first starts just 24 hours after playing for the Hellenic Premier side.
Rovers’ Marcus Palmer hit a post before Thurgood levelled, striding on to a loose ball to net from 12 yards out after a corner was not dealt with. Tyrone Berry scored moments later, volleying home Jamie Slabber's cross.
