DAVE MOGG is set to meet with Yate Town chairman Peter Jackson this weekend to discuss whether he will remain in charge next season.
Jackson has dismissed rumours linking Andy Black with the role after he led Bitton to the Toolstation Western Premier Division title this year.
Former Hallen boss Mogg has won four out of 18 league games at the helm and was unable to keep Yate in the Southern League Premier Division this season.
He took over in difficult circumstances and the fallout from Richard Thompson’s controversial sacking led to senior players such as Lee Jefferies and Paul Chenoweth leaving the club.
With little time to change things, Mogg looked to improve the squad by recruiting mostly from lower divisions with Hallen’s Phil Ward, Frome’s Sam Duggan, and Fry Club’s Aron Robbins arriving.
After no win in his four games, there were signs that things were turning around with three victories in eight days in March, including the 3-2 victory over Bristol Rovers in the Gloucestershire Senior Cup.
However, Yate failed to end the season strongly despite leading in many games and were relegated with one game remaining when they threw away a 3-0 lead at Clevedon Town to lose 4-3.
Meanwhile, Yate are still hopeful of hanging onto their Southern League Premier status despite finishing bottom but one in the table, as FA chiefs meet to discuss the re-structuring of the leagues in the next week.
