IT WAS a brilliant game to finish on against Hartlepool.
We put on the pressure really well early on and battered them in the first half and the two early goals helped. We were pushing on, we did not drop off and it was a good win.
I got 15 minutes at the end. It’s always good to get a run out, obviously not as good as getting a start but that’s football. It is hard to get into the game for the last ten or 15 minutes but you’ve got to do your best and try and make a goal or score one.
We’ve made a bit of progress by finishing 11th. Next season we’d like to push on again, go another five places up the league and make the play-offs. I think this season has been an improvement overall.
Personally, I did not get an awful lot of action but I had a good spell at Grays where I enjoyed playing. It’s been a tough year not playing. It can get you down a bit but I’ll keep my head down, see if I’m in the plans next season and if not, maybe another loan spell would do me good, and I can come back after that and get my chance.
We have our last training session today to finish the season off and wind down before we’re back on July 2. We’ve got a good eight weeks to give the lads who have played a lot time to rest. Paul Trollope will give us a summer training schedule for us to stick by so we should come back in good condition. We’ll rest up for three or four weeks and then get ready for pre-season.
