CAM suffered another defeat at the hands of table-topping Woodpeckers.

After captain Pete Hall asked Woodpeckers to bat, Griffiths looked to hit the boundaries.

A tight opening spell from Steve Rice and Ben Holloway left the score at 50 from 13 overs.

Spinner Gareth Udal claimed the wicket of Griffiths leg before for 40.

Hall replaced Holloway and was rewarded after a catch in the deep from Adam Holloway.

Batsmen Ruxton (66) and Cockburn (66) were both dropped within four balls of each other which cost Cam dearly.

Ruxton attacked the bowling of Hall, including one six that landed on the roof of the Croft.

A partnership of 108 came to an end when Ryan Western had Cockburn caught on the boundary again by Holloway.

Western claimed two more wickets and Rice returned to the attack to collect three wickets for himself.

Chasing 246 for victory, Cam’s chase was dealt a blow when Udal was bowled in the fourth over.

This brought together Ben Williams and Scott Kalus who so many times this season have built a steady base for Cam’s innings.

Kalus soon passed 50 but was caught shortly after for 51.

Hall then knocked up a quick-fire 28 before being bowled by Cockburn.

Williams reached yet another 50, his fourth on a Cam wicket this season, but fell similarly to Kalus moments later.

Adam Holloway held up a resistance. Western was caught for ten, whilst Deakin and Brown were both adjudged leg before when looking to increase the run rate.

With five overs to go, Holloway looked to take on the remaining 45 runs on his own but was stumped for 24 ending Cam’s chance of victory.

Rice and Ben Holloway were then both dismissed cheaply.
