CAM'S poor run of form continued after suffering defeat at the hands of Arcadians.
After bowling first on a damp wicket, the conditions worked against Cam as an old ball and a worsening pitch led to their defeat.
Eddie Rendall Ben Holloway opened and for the first 12 overs the run rate remained at one run per over. Gareth Udal took the opening wicket after a diving catch from Rendall, soon followed by Udal’s second and third wickets in successive overs.
Ryan Western’s introduction into the attack led to a further three wickets.
Towards the end of the innings Rendall returned to claim two wickets whilst Holloway claimed the final two.
Cam’s innings started brightly as Tom Deakin and Udal scored 20 from the first four overs.
Deakin was dismissed in the 11th over for a top score of 15 as the ball moved back and clipped the bails.
Ben Williams struggled against the lack of pace and followed Deakin back.
For ten overs after Deakin’s dismissal Cam failed to add to the score, leading to Adam Holloway presenting an easy return catch to the bowler.
Udal and captain Pete Hall held up a resistance, but after a contentious catch was given Udal had to walk back to the pavilion for a patient eight.
Western followed without scoring and Hall looked to increase the rate but was caught on the boundary for six.
Wood, Winfield and Holloway all fell cheaply. Graeme Brown (10*), and last man Eddie Rendall 8* held out for the remaining ten overs.
