KINGSWOOD travelled to Gala Wilton for their second pre-season friendly last Saturday and were on the wrong end of a 2-0 score line.
The home side defended well early on with Dan Griffiths and Tom Higgins both going close, but as the half wore on, the young energetic Wilton team grew in stature and played some excellent football, keeping the visiting rear guard on their toes.
With the continuous rolling substitute agreement not allowing either side to get any real rhythm, it was left to home striker Adam Cowell to open the scoring past Fox.
The game progressed in a similar pattern in the second half, with few challenges being made in a very open affair.
Dave Parslow caught the eye on the right side of midfield when introduced, and the evergreen Paul Spill was unlucky not to level things with a snapshot from the edge of the box.
Kingswood applied further pressure and George Pettifor had the ball in the net, but the official saw an offence to disallow it.
Late in the game, Wilton made it 2-0 from a break away move and were good value for their win.
