FOREST GREEN ROVERS manager Jim Harvey has employed a solicitor to deal with the club following the dispute over his future.
It is believed that Rovers are unhappy that Harvey applied for the managers post at Cambridge United and see it as a breach of his contract but neither the club or Harvey have commented officially on the speculation.
The popular Ulsterman was missing from the official team photo on Wednesday despite being spotted at the ground before the pre-season friendly against Leeds United. He was later seen driving away from the ground following a meeting with Forest Green chairman Trevor Horsley.
With the likely scenario being Harvey’s departure, Jerry Gill is the frontrunner to take charge. The former Birmingham City was Harvey’s assistant when on loan from Cheltenham Town last season but was surprisingly not retained at the end of the season, and recently just missed out on the job at Cambridge to Martin Ling.
Forest Green’s Blue Square Premier campaign begins next Saturday when they take on Kettering at the New Lawn.
