DON'T mention snow to me or how beautiful it looks. I'm sick to death of the stuff, and it still hasn't gone yet!

After the disappointment of the original Notts County FA Cup game being called off, it allowed me to take stock of the fitness of my squad and to appreciate that sometimes things happen for a reason.

The extra time given to me will allow Andy Mangan, Steve Davies, Mark Preece, Ben Pugh, Gavin Carlin, Curtis McDonald and Mike Fowler to be available for the next game or in the very near future.

Lee Ayres had his operation on Monday up in Wigan and his recovery time could be eight weeks which would still see him available for a number of important matches.

To have everyone fit will be a major boost and bring much needed competition to every position. It will also allow me to have not only a strong starting XI but also a strong bench.

In the modern game of three subs from five, it is becoming more prevalent to alter the course of matches with a number of substitutions. With the team playing so well recently and knowing that I have even more players to choose from shortly fills me with even more confidence that we will climb the table and finish the season strongly. I am already thinking about preparing for a good start to the following campaign.

My job for this season has always been to stop the rot and stabilise the club, to maintain our Premier status, and to build for the future.

I am totally committed to this end and am confident that with the players at my disposal I can achieve these aims.
