A KEENLY contested match ended in a draw with both sides failing to take a number of opportunities to gain victory.
Thornbury might have taken an early lead but a shot narrowly missed the target.
Elaine Dreyton gave a commanding performance in defence, on one occasion making a goal line save to deny the home side.
Harriet McLeod and Charlotte Cockerton roamed all over the pitch and Becky Jones and Amanda Ponting made a number of timely interceptions for the visitors, who were forced to play part of the game a player short.
The home side took the lead in the first half following a breakaway but Thornbury managed to level matters when Charlotte Cockerton forced the ball home after some interpassing between Rachel Gardner and Katie Bridgeman.
Play went from end to end in the second period but neither side could grab the winner.

Thornbury went down to a late goal against a visiting Jaspers 2nds who included a couple of first team players in their line up.
The home side had a couple of early chances but like their first team colleagues were unable to find the goal.
Bethan Brown made some fine saves in goal for Thornbury but was unable to prevent the visitors from taking the lead.
Thornbury’s experienced trio, Mel Joseph, Tracy Jones and Annie Griffin used all their skills to try and breakdown a resolute visiting side to no avail.
Thornbury prompted by Sam Anderton and Rose Fox along with Chloe Mills, Lily Brown and Charlotte Bye began to attack more regularly and following some good work from Dawn Blanchard and Mary Quinton, Mel Joseph grabbed the equaliser.
Emily Quinton was sound in defence for the home side, who conceded a scrappy late goal to give Jaspers victory.

Thornbury thirds welcomed back Gill Bailey for their first match after the mid season break and she scored one of the goals in a deserved victory.
Sharon Wilson found the target on two occasions with two powerful strikes and goals from Sarah Lally and a penalty stroke from Louise Quick completed the scoring.
Thornbury entertain Nailsea 2nds on Saturday, 12pm at Castle School.
