DURSLEY rugby product Charlie Sharples has signed a new contract at Guinness Premiership side Gloucester.

Sharples, Freddie Burns, and Henry Trinder all penned two-year extensions to their current contracts that secure their futures at Kingsholm until at least 2012.

The trio, all products of the Academy, are no strangers to the first team with Sharples currently the club’s leading try scorer in the 2009/2010 campaign.

Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath said: “I’m really pleased to have sorted out these contracts.

“It’s important that as a club we develop and retain the best young talent, and all three of them have so much potential to play a big part in Gloucester’s future.”

“Freddie has stepped in at fly half this season and showed maturity beyond his years, Charlie can’t stop scoring and Henry is a class act in the centre.”

“They all have things to work on but they’re all committed to improving their game and I hope they’ll be a feature of Gloucester sides for many years to come.”
