REECE STYCHE enjoyed a dream Forest Green debut last night as he came off the bench to score twice and earn a crucial three points at Hayes and Yeading.
Styche, who signed for Rovers on a month’s loan from Unibond side Chasetown on Monday, replaced Craig Rocastle at half-time with the scores level at 1-1 and took just five minutes to notch his first before scoring the winner three minutes from time.
The win lifted Forest Green back out of the relegation zone as they made it 13 points from their last 18 available.
Steve Basham headed in Dale Binns’ cross to give Hayes a 12th minute lead.
Tomi Ameobi levelled ten minutes later when he scored from six yards after Mark Preece nodded down Paul Stonehouse’s long free kick.
Styche then turned the game on its head with a strike from close range to finish off Jonathan Smith’s pull back on 50 minutes.
Danny Allen-Page's crossed for Basham to score his second four minutes from time but almost immediately after the restart Conal Platt’s brilliant run and cross was met by Styche, who snatched the winner.
