A STUTTERING performance by Slimbridge saw them dumped out of the Challenge Trophy last night by a spirited Hanham side.
Hanham took the lead after 14 minutes through Bray, and held the lead until the last 12 minutes of the game when Henry equalised, and Marvyn Roberts seemed to have nicked it for the home side with just five minutes left.
However, a last minute equaliser for the visitors by Owen forced extra-time.
The Swans pulled ahead again through Jamie Martin five minutes into extra-time but quick goals in the second period of the added 30 from Burt and Buxton-Blyth settled the tie for the visitors.
Slimbridge’s top of the table league clash against Cheltenham Saracens was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch last Saturday but they remain second in Hellenic League Division One West.
On Saturday they hope to get their league campaign back underway after a long break with a visit to struggling Cirencester United, who have only won once all season and are one place off the bottom of the table.
