NICK TANNER recorded his first win in charge of Winterbourne in comfortable fashion at bottom club Launton Sports.

Within a minute of the start Jimmy Potts sprinted clear for the visitors but his fierce drive struck the upright.

The early stages saw the speedy Winterbourne forwards causing untold problems for the Launton defence, although keeper Nick Lacey stood firm making a number of vital saves.

In the tenth minute another great strike from Potts saw Lacey pull off a brilliant save, while Bigger Ibrahim cleared another effort from Vile off the line.

In the 16th minute the deadlock was broken when, following a goalmouth scramble, Sam Vile netted from an acute angle.

Launton hit back immediately with Steve Mulcock setting up Lee Durrant, but the chance was wasted.

Winterbourne keeper Graham Court then pulled off a great save to deny Nick Neal, before Potts increased their lead in the 33rd minute.

Within minutes Winterbourne added a third through Scott Cameron, as Launton allowed the player the freedom of the penalty area Within two minutes Sports reduced the arrears with Lee Durrant blasting home an unstoppable shot which flew past the stranded Court.

However, the game was all over in the 59th minute when Vile netted his second goal and Winterbourne’s fourth.

Any hope of a Launton comeback evaporated in the 70th minute as they were reduced to ten men when Durrant was sent off following two yellow cards.
