Eddie Rendall set Cam on their way to their first win in the opening game of the season with figures of 5-23.

Rendall’s opening spell ripped through the top five of Churchdown’s batting order.

The opening two wickets fell in the third over as Rendall managed to find two edges, both neatly held by Matt Tipper at slip.

His third came from a reaction catch from his own bowling before he clean bowled another, soon followed by another edge, this time held by Graeme Brown.

Ben Holloway grabbed a deserved wicket towards the end of his spell.

Change bowlers Pete Hall and Ryan Western carried on from where the openers left it with Western claiming three victims in as many overs, and Hall claiming one after a catch from Holloway, leaving Cam chasing 73 for victory.

Hall and Adam Holloway started brightly for Cam but after striking two boundaries Hall was caught at slip for 12.

The returning Stuart Newman suffered the same fate soon after, falling for two.

Captain Ben Williams steadied the ship with Holloway before playing a loose shot and being caught for 12.

Western played one elegant drive before being bowled later in the over.

Holloway and Udal looked set to carry Cam over the line before Holloway was trapped leg before for 17.

Udal finished the game with three consecutive boundaries to give Cam victory.
