JAMES Bittner insists the Dave Hockaday and Dale Vince partnership is a major factor in him penning a new two-year deal.

Bittner has agreed terms to remain at the New Lawn despite rebuffing approaches from two Blue Square Premier rivals.

" I had a couple of offers but in truth there was no chance of me leaving," said the Forest Green keeper, who scooped the supporters’ player of the season award.

"The club is financially sound now and with the gaffer (Dave Hockaday) and the chairman (Dale Vince) on board - the future is really bright."

Rovers’ boss Hockaday is equally pleased to retain the former Salisbury City man.

He said: " James is as good as there is in the league and I am delighted to have him on board."
