FOREST Green striker Ross Dyer achieved a boyhood dream at Old Trafford last week.
Manchester United fan Dyer joined Forest Green team-mates Reece Styche, Keiron Forbes and goalkeeeper James Bittner in a half-time penalty shoot out at Gary Neville’s Manchester United testimonial.
“It was a bit surreal to be honest, but such an awesome experience to be on the Old Trafford pitch in front of over 40,000 fans,” said Dyer.
Rovers lost the penalty shoot out 4-2 against Manchester United’s FA Youth Cup winning heroes after Keiron Forbes and James Bittner missed from the spot.
The game was sponsored by green energy company Ecotricity, owned by Forest Green chairman Dale Vince, who has joined forces with former England defender Neville to launch a new Sustainability In Sport Charity.
