FOREST Green boss Dave Hockaday has snapped up highly-rated Salisbury City centre-back Jamie Turley on a two-year deal.
Turley, 21, started his career at Wycombe Wanderers before joining the Whites in two years ago.
He was part of the City side that were handed a two-league demotion from the Blue Square Premier over issues arising from their entry into administration last year.
However, Turley remained loyal to the Whites and was part of the play-off winning side that helped Salisbury win promotion to Blue Square Bet South via the Southern League Premier play-offs.
“I am delighted to sign for Rovers and to be working with Dave Hockaday, who has got an excellent reputation in the game,” said Turley.
Turley is set to partner Chris Todd in Rovers’ defence and Hockaday feels the two will prove perfect bedfellows.
“Jamie Turley has pace and power, and played alongside Chris Todd at Salisbury. I am delighted to have both on board.”
The powerful defender will also team up with former Salisbury team-mate James Bittner.
