FOUR European Cup winners are set to appear for the Liverpool Legends when they take on Winterbourne United at Oaklands Park next month.

Bruce Grobbelaar, Jimmy Case, Alan Kennedy, Phil Neal are all expected to feature along with John Wark, Paul Walsh, Don Hutchison, Jason McAteer, Mark Wright and Gary Gillespie in the match to celebrate the South Gloucestershire club’s centenary year.

Goalkeeper Grobbelaar attended a GFA Trophy match between Winterbourne and Patchway Town at Parkside Avenue in December 2009 and took part in a half-time penalty shootout. He was also a guest speaker at the post-match dinner.

Winterbourne will donate proceeds from the match against Liverpool Legends on Saturday, July 23 (3pm) to the Jessie May Trust after one of their own legendary performers, Scott Cameron, lost a twin son Theo in February.

Prizes for the raffle so far include a signed Steven Gerrard shirt, courtesy of Rob McCluskey of The Boys Pen, and four passes for a ground tour of Anfield courtesy of the Premier League club’s charity department.

Tickets are priced at £10 adults and £5 under-16s. Under-10s get in free if accompanied by a paying adult. They can be obtained from Winterbourne Utd FC. For postal applications send a stamped addressed envelope, together with a cheque (made out to Winterbourne Utd FC), to: 115 High Street, Winterbourne, Bristol, BS36 IRF.
